There’s something ecstatic about a summer night in an intimate venue filled with packed fans, electrono pop, punk bass reverberating from wall to wall. Charlotte, NC was 82 Major’s second stop on their <82 Syndrome> North America Tour, and now that it’s concluded we are definately feeling the post concert depression feels that followed. Here’s a recap of my experience with 82 Major.
82Major is a South Korean boy band formed by Great M Entertainment. The group consists of six members: Cho Seong-il, Yoon Ye-chan, Nam Seong-mo, Hwang Seong-bin, Park Seok-joon, and Kim Do-gyun. They debuted on October 11, 2023, with their debut single album On. Their first North American Tour <82 Syndrome> started on July 11th, 2025 and concluded recently at K Con August 2nd, in Los Angeles, CA.
The crowd was buzzing with anticipation from the moment we were lined up in front of the venue. Fans dressed up in 82 Major themed gear, from custom jerseys to decorative pickets with their biases. Banners were handed to us with Charlotte’s cityscape graphic behind a picture of the group to welcome the group into the city. The fan made project was made specifically for the group to pose with after the show, and as we were waiting to get in-hours before the start date, southern hospitality was at it’s finest. It was sweltering hot in North Carolina’s blazing sun on a mid summer’s day, yet that didn’t deter 82 Major’s fanbase from reveling in the excitement.
Lining up was efficent and a breeze. Check in was gloriously ran by the tour’s parent company Leo Presents creating a seamless VIP and check in experience for everyone. Just as we were about to go in for one of the first VIP activations one of the members, Park Seokjoon, one of the six members, came out to greet everyone and handed everyone water. No one pushed, and no one shoved granting the member and his staff access to seamlessly manuver through the crowd of fans to make sure they were hydrated.
Soundcheck was a pre show welcome with a few performances to greet the fans before the actual set list, giving us a tease of what the night’s performance was going to run like.
The show commenced, and throughout the evening the group seamlessly blended songs from their discography, like their most recent hits the sultry 00’s R&B record like Heroes, to hyping the crowd up with Passport an electro pop record that the crowd knew every word to, and unreleased songs from their SoundCloud EPs.
The most memorable part of the night was how unbelieveably hot it was in that venue even into the night. The show was haulted to make sure that the fans were hydrated and water was passed around from staff to prevent fans from passing out in the sweltering heat. Thankfully, no major emergencies arose. The boys took care of their fans, even though the venue seemed to have no working A/C. The members candidly talked to the fans constantly asking if we were okay, empathizing through our shared trauma.
The boys were dressed in summer flair- a breezy lose fitted jersey with neon green trim adorning their logo and baggy jeans, reminiscent of the early 2000’s streetwear. Each member’s personality shone through the uniformed attire. They were drenched in sweat, panting, while padding their faces with towels, and taking water breaks to cool down. During the brief intermission, Yechan lightheartedly made jokes to pass the time, and to keep the spirits up of the fans while everyone refreshed.
Even through all the obsticals, once the members and the fans had cooled down, the show commenced, and they performed like rent was due, giving us an electrifying performance, and served vocals like the heat was a thing of the past being the true professionals they were.
By the show’s conclusion, the members became emotional as they were giving their final goodbyes. They were moved by the love radiating from the crowd. Whether you’re a casual listener or a long time fan since their debut, this summer tour is the kind of experience which is truly once in a lifetime. The night was more than a concert; it was a celebration of music, culture, and shared joy.
